His 2 cousins and little brother hiked up there In 2004 and left this cross and his ashes up top. It is great you got to share it with a couple of close friends.

It looks very much like Colorado high country where you were.

dadDadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16833682948926579630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26114600.post-30438489747021549392007-08-12T05:52:00.000-06:002007-08-12T05:52:00.000-06:00If you hadn't mentioned that little part about the...If you hadn't mentioned that little part about the memorial cross at the edge of the cliff... Matt keeps assuring me that someday he'll take me up a 14'er (and driving to the summit of Mt. Evans doesn't count). I have serious doubts about my ability to make it through such a serious hike, but dreaming is free!Wendihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09748207391263854599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26114600.post-76462985771919170352007-08-10T07:50:00.000-06:002007-08-10T07:50:00.000-06:00To answer Ty's question:I carried two granola bars...To answer Ty's question:

I carried two granola bars, 4 fruit rollups, and a bag of dried apricots in my stylish fanny pack. I took turns carrying the daypack as well, as this carried Dan's and my water.

There was a HUGE cliff at the top: about a 1500 ft sheer drop into that blue glacier lake. That one we had to crawl up to the edge on our hands and knees for fear of Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17710337880486481120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26114600.post-82873877769887988192007-08-09T21:21:00.000-06:002007-08-09T21:21:00.000-06:00What did you carry in your stylish fanny pack? I commend you!

Why does man strive to ascend lofty mountain summits such as cloud peak? I mean, you walk up, you walk down, an then your feet really hurt. I don't know, but we have some tall mountains always on our horizon and they call to me constantly.<Tylerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09022495333159620396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26114600.post-64345970808368550302007-08-09T13:06:00.000-06:002007-08-09T13:06:00.000-06:00Man, looking at your photos made me miss hiking --...Man, looking at your photos made me miss hiking -- I need to get up in the hills again!

Wish I could've been there.Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06226461398867907395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26114600.post-59086695854035480552007-08-09T10:22:00.000-06:002007-08-09T10:22:00.000-06:00child's play!!Looks like you guys had a lot of fun...child's play!!

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. that is a lot of rocks.

AdTankfoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04001864494399742923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26114600.post-32566743061804046192007-08-09T09:07:00.000-06:002007-08-09T09:07:00.000-06:00Looks beautiful, Mark!
